Begin with the decision the research is meant to support. Separate observed facts, source interpretations, engineering judgment, and unresolved questions.
Evidence trail
Prefer primary standards, official investigation reports, technical data, and clearly attributed expert sources. Record edition dates and access dates where change matters.
Synthesis
Compare sources explicitly, explain contradictions, and state the limits of the conclusion. Related knowledge notes should hold concepts that remain useful beyond the research question.
